Founded in the early 1900s, Caffè Mokarico has always had a single goal in mind, to serve the best espresso in their own unique style. Originally named “La casa del caffè" and located in Florence, Italy, The founder Comm. Barbieri heavily valued the local traditions of coffee processing, and has passed this value down through the generations at Mokarico. Today, Caffè Mokarico has held onto their attachment to the local area, making them one prominent figures in the tradition of Florentine coffee processing.
Since the company’s inception, Caffè Mokarico has continued their pursuit of the perfect coffee bean, being extremely selective about their suppliers and raw materials. This pursuit can also be seen in their current headquarters as well, from a meticulous and refined roasting process, to the creation of special packaging which keeps out atmospheric elements that may decrease the quality of their products.
Caffè Mokarico is fully committed not only to the quality of their products, but also to the quality and happiness of their employees. They are the first and only coffee roasting company to have received a certification of triple quality, coming from ISO 9001, ISO 14.001, and SA8000 further demonstrating the company's commitment to employee quality of life as each certification speaks to the company’s pursuit of protection against the exploitation of minors, guarantees of safety and health in the workplace, and respect for human rights and workers' rights.
Throughout their journey, Caffè Mokarico has closely guarded the secrets behind their blends and specialty coffees which have brought them success. Despite this, Mokarico continues to create more and more new tasting coffees, the company’s coffee specialist, Tommaso Bongini, is always hard at work trying to pursue the original goal of Caffè Mokarico: the perfect cup of coffee.

Starting from their original headquarters in Florence, Caffè Mokarico has continuously grown and expanded. Originally spreading through Florence, then the rest of Italy, and now internationally as well, picking up multiple awards and other forms of recognition for their coffee blends along the way. Now located near the Castello di Gafaggiolo, the company continues to take influence from their Italian roots and local environment, using it as inspiration for new tastes and flavors to entrance the palates of their customers.
